Best books to learn Actuarial science, in order

Actuarial science is a long exam ladder, so an ordered path pays off: build the probability and financial mathematics foundations first, then work into risk theory and the specific SOA/CAS syllabi, then understand the day-to-day of the profession and getting your first role. Sequencing keeps each exam standing on the last. Books and manuals support the path, but passing the actuarial exams is the credential; nothing else substitutes for clearing them.
